It'd be more consistant if New Line decided to release their own set of Friday the 13th films. Of course there would have to be some kind of nice incentive for me to buy that one..not a lot of winners compared to Paramount's series. Perhaps they could throw in that His Name is Jason documentary as a plus?

This SO blows away the "from CL to Manhattan" boxset. I have actually gotten rid of that box set to a local goodwill store. Will be getting this new one for sure, although honestly, I really only care for parts 1-4.

Yes and no...depends on what special features are included because not all of them from the original box set were included on the deluxe editions.

Looks like an awesome boxset! I wish I didn't already have the From Crystal Lake To Manhattan one.

I pre-ordered it when it was announced, however, I just canceled the order because I have the old boxset and I am partial to it. I also own the Part 3D 2009 edition. I will use the money for if I go to Chiller.

Wow, i have planned some times ago to order the news american deluxe DVDs (I live in Switzerland), but I'm happy to haven't done it yet, this boxset looks nice !  Grin

I just hope they won't annouce a blu-ray version of this boxset a little time after the release...

I was looking at it yesterday in Walmart and it's definitely well packaged and worth the price for those who don't own the deluxe editions already though. I'm holding out for a BD set for 1-8 and they haven't even released 4-8 yet for single release! I know pt.4 is coming though but even then I prefer to just get all 8 films in one shot w/ hopefully a well packaged design! Wink
