Hilarious fucked up Emails take #3

I still think getting all hulk smash over what someone does with a horror forum is weak-sauce. I mean what the hell kind of life does this chic have? "Ohnoes!!!!!! Kat has a donate button...she's gonna hear from me!"

That was back in the day before there were any laws regarding the internet. The local police had NO idea what to do about this stalker I had. He kept threatening to rape and kill me in all these gruesome ways via the message board here on my sites. The local police sorta laughed at me. I had to do something, I had no idea where the guy was and just how serious he was. Thankfully after tracing him I contacted HIS local police dept and they had tech guys that knew what to do and took it seriously.  They set up cameras and waited awhile to catch him on video in the act of making threats.

20/20 contacted me to appear on their show, I told them no since the case was still on going. I watched the episode, one other girl was on it talking about her stalker. Pretty creepy.

The court didn't take my case very seriously back then, this was in 1999 I think it was. They felt that since I was a female running a horror website I was bound to get nutty people and "deserved" it. The guy got 6 months probation, wasn't allowed near computers for X amount of months, and had a psych evaluation.

Creepy thing is the dude could be member here today, and I'd never know

Haha, I know! Its just funny because I've run this place for almost 18 years now. People used to beg to send me checks to help support the place because they loved the site. I didn't feel comfortable giving out my address. So I never really allowed it. Then more and more people were asking how they could donate. I had to do something!

Besides, I've been paying out of pocket for this site for a very long time, why not get a little help if people are willing to help? Its not like people donate $500 monthly. I'm lucky to get $1 a month LOL!

Thankfully when it came down to it and the site really was in jeopardy of losing hosting people banded together and donated a little each so the site could stay up. And every cent went into the domain names and hosting for TWO years.

Any more donations I get within the next year goes towards domain names for the future, or to purchase magazines and other stuff so I can post the stuff in those books/magazines on the site.

I can't help but laugh at these people. They obviously have no clue what's like to run a website along with all it's side costs (domains, privacy, etc.) considered. Why they have such a hard-on for you is beyond me; honestly you aren't demanding anybody donate. Tell 'em to take a hike Kat.

I'm picturing this person @ the library in one of those study booths with the walls up all around, going from random forum to random forum emailing owners, keeping tally on yellow lined paper all self satisfied.

And it suddenly dawns on me that thinking about it to this degree makes me nearly as lame as her...
