Well Jason X could have done that too, if its budget was 30 odd million instead of only 11 million.
Doesn't really have anything to do with the budget.
I'm talking less comedic moments & have the cast play things more straight & dire.
Play up the isolation of the ship being disabled in space.
Have mecha Jason be a little closer to the concept art & more grusome.

Eh I don't mind some comedy in my F13 movies.  That is why F13 pt6 is my fave of the movies.  And why I love X too.   Jason X  Jason X

As time goes by Jason X has become really one of my preferred installments in the series. It has great kills, good effects, and a nice balance of humor and intensity. For all the bashing it has gotten through the years, it;s actually held up really good and surprisingly reads almost like some of these Marvel movies in content. Maybe it was ahead for it's day in that thinking?
