You never know.  Unless the killer's after THEM, they may just be apathetic.  Ever see these vidoes where someone's getting beaten on the street and people are just walking by?

well, he IS an escaped lunatic with a history of violence.  That's a subtle clue in and of itself.  Still doesn't explain the fact Loomis had to tell the cops what was up.

Yeah, and if you take Curse of Michael Myers into consideration you can see the coverup as a strong possibility.
