I liked both it and the sequel but from looking at some of the posts on here it seems to be pretty well hated.

Un-dying hatred of those who live and love.

All he tried to do was turn Myers into Jason. Just like how the Friday remake tried to turn Jason somewhat like Leatherface. Having tunnels, keeping someone hostage, etc... but that's a rant for another time.

I agree with you, by trying to do a remake or 'reimagining' of old classic movies, they are always looking for ways to make things different. I agree with the Jason thing in the 2009 movie. Real Jason would never set traps, or
Spoiler (hover to show)
. They always seem to change the personality of the killer, and it just doesn't work.

Actually Jessie I have to disagree with you there, I think they would've already done that kill except the censors in the early days wouldn't allow it.

Hmm I guess I didn't consider that. I guess I partly agree with you then.

There was always a prejudice against "scary movies" by the MPAA. Take for instance the way the slaughtered the Friday 7: New Blood sleeping bag death, whereas they let the 1000x more violent hyperbaric chamber death from the Bond film "License to Kill" wherein Anthony Zerbe's head is literally exploded in a hyberbaric chamber by Robert Davi's Sanchez character go in uncut.

I liked the first one, loved how Tylet Main portrayed Michael. The second one took a long time for me to appreciate, but I have to admit that it's grown on me... But yeah Wraith, we are among the few here who actually like what Rob Zombie did with the Halloween movies...

i dont mind the movies, only saw both twice each tho.  whereas i watched his other movies a bunch of times.  im just not a fan of remakes.  thatd be like if some guy covered a bunch of bob marley songs and put them on a cd.  i would never listen to it or buy it lol.

A lot of people feel that way, Mikey. Meanwhile, for me any excuse to spend two hours in a dark theatre getting ths shit scared out of me is a good one, even a remake.

i do agree there Jet.  i give most horror flicks a chance because usually theres something good about each one, even if its just a small scene and the rest sucks lol.

Exactly! That few minutes of thrill that gives us a jolly is totally worth all the shit we sometimes have to sift through. I mean, not everything can be a classic, but they all have that one shining moment that makes it worth any letdown you may experience from the rest of the movie.

I liked his 1st Halloween movie.

Myers bein a 7 foot guy added to his effect a lil bit. And the story wasn't that bad.

If he was gonna 're-imagine' the movie and not just remake it, I ain't mind that Laurie was clearly shown to be his sister from the start. It added a lil sumthin new to it.

Michael's background story mighta got a lil too much screentime, but it was kinda cool. His escape in Zombie's version was better than a buncha patients just wandering outside and he pops out and jacks the car.

It ain't as good as the original but I give good marks to Zombie's Halloween.

Motherfuck the sequel he made though.  Cry
