"Kill Her Mommy, Kill her!"

« Reply #15 on: December 31, 2010, 10:18:41 PM »

Okay, my list. Happy Face Cheesy

--

HALLOWEEN
It's terrifying to see a masked murderer killing helpless teenage girls. The music is put when it is needed, Bob's death was the scariest because Michael just moves in a robot motion, like when he sits up to look at Laurie when he walks it's just creepy and you have your eyes on him all the time. Like Return Of The Living Dead, you know the character is gonna get away but it is still scary because how close they come together. One problem, I don't they that the friends of Laurie wouldn't really be her friends. They are so different and Laurie likes to focus on school which one of the others don't. She doesn't some and they do etc.. It isn't Major but I like to shit like that out Cheesy

HALLOWEEN IV: THE RETURN OF MICHAEL MYERS
I actually like the mask, it makes him seem more scarier, even knowing it's smaller and more white, it still makes Michael look more like a mindless killer (Which I know he isn't) The car death were un-fitting, but I loved them. The end chase seen was great and I always love the part where Michael goes through that plank. I like the character Jamie and how Michael is after her. That makes me even scared, to think a killer with a butcher knife is going after a 7 year old. Jamie is a VERY good actor for her age (Better then some of the adults!) The ending was so unexpected and was like a re-boot of what happened in Halloween I, I didn't like how Dr. Loomis referred Michael as Evil On Two legs though. This movie will always be my second favorite because it's just thrilling and exciting.

HALLOWEEN II: I didn't like how they put it straight after the night of Halloween, but what I do like is how he is back and after Laurie again. Jame-Lee is better then ever in this one. Dr. Loomis is exciting as always and it eager to kill Michael. The hospital layout is awesome and creepy because it's big hardly anyone can hear you scream. The death scenes are fucking brutal. Michael choking someone reminds me of the first movie, I like the hammer death (My favorite) Like Kat said, hospitals are a lot more crowded but that doesn't matter with me a lot. My third favorite and it deserves a good mention.

HALLOWEEN III: SEASON OF THE WITCH
Extremely underrated and mostly hated because of no Michael Myers. I'm surprised people didn't like because of the name "Season Of The Witch" There is no witch in it. But besides that, John Carpenter took this to the extreme, he killed kids. The gore level is exciting and the fact that this man is trying to make Halloween scarier is just fucking creepy. I don't have much to say but I love this movie and it doesn't deserve to be criticized because of Michael Myers being a no-show. If you hate it because you just don't like the plot or concept then that's fine with me.

HALLOWEEN VI: THE CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS
Not the best Halloween, I love the idea of bringing Tommy Doyale back, that was unexpected. The mask though doesn't look like the rest but still, it is shit scary. Michael walks like he doesn't give a shit and he is just pissed off. I also feel sorry for him, he gets the shit beat out of him with a pipe. It's not the best but it is cool to see him get beat up and green stuff come out of his mouth. It's not that great but it is good watching it just for a laugh and some scares.

HALLOWEEN V: THE REVENGE OF MICHAEL MYERS
It's okay I guess, not the best. The mask makes Michael look goofy and a farm layout isn't great. Dr. Loomis acts like he is totally insane, actually I probably would to if I was in an explosion got stabbed multiple times and tries to catch Michael too many times to even count, but he just doesn't act like Loomis. Jamie is a good character and now that she is mute I was kind of annoyed and somehow she can speak. I hate how Rachael died, if you kill off a character that important you should at lease do it at the end or something way better, it's just laughable. Billy is a great actor but I didn't like his character, sometimes Jamie confuses me and she doesn't make a lot of sense some of the time. The death scenes weren't good and I felt like Michael is just a deranged serial killer in a mask. But that's okay, at lease he sticks to the story. Don Shank is excellent and makes Michael look bad ass. So, I could talk about all sorts of things but that's my quick re-cap of part V.

HALLOWEEN: H2O
Laurie is back, yes! But the movie isn't good, aww... But some of the death scenes are pretty cool like the guy getting stabbed in the back. Laurie is great and Michael seems more stealthy and indestructible. She has some balls to go after Michael and at the end where "Michael's" head gets chopped off is great. But the movie isn't that good, in fact it's a b-movie.

Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN II:
I actually watched it again and the first half was awesome. Some of Michael's kill are actually pretty good and very stealthy, I like that. Michael walks like how he did originally and I think it isn't half bad.

HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION
It sucks, Michael has a terrible mask that isn't scary and kills are unfitting and that suck. I just don't like this movie but I like to see Tyra Banks die. So that's really it, I don't want to rant on it too much but to rap it up. IT SUCKS.

Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN:
Michael as a kid was awesome and the death scenes are gorey and exciting. Michael looks like a small boy but grows up to be a huge maniac. Doesn't make a whole lot sense. I think the bully's death was over the top and shouldn't of been done that way. Michael as an adult sucked and the deaths were yet again unfitting and unneeded.

Okay, here's how it is in the world according to The Jet:

1: Halloween (1978): The perfect marriage of suspense and scares, like what would happen if Psycho and Friday the 13th could have a child. Does what it needed to do without overdoing anything. Donald Pleasance, even with remarkably little screen time, makes the movie his with speeches we still remember and quote to this day. Jamie Lee Curtis, Nancy Loomis, and PJ Soles give a twist on the whole hapless victim paradigm and the whole thing is very entertaining from start to finish and holds up forever. 7* out of 5, this movie is just off the scale.

2: Halloween II (1981): Or, as I sometimes call it, Halloween 1.5. Really just a continuation of the first film it never lets up and we get the biggest secret since Luke found out who was behind Vader's mask in "The Empire Strikes Back." 6* out of 5, not as great as the original, but still off the scale.

3: Halloween IV: The Shape is back! And just when the horror world needed him most. With the 80's winding down towards an end and the slasher genre choking on it's own excess Michael Myers, the Boogeyman himself, returns to save the day and the genre with this niece chasing, gas station blowing up, shot down in a hail of gunfire equal to an entire season of "24" blaze of glory! **** 1/2

4: Halloween, The Curse of Michael Myers: Not as great as it could've been, but still a good blend of old and new with the return of Tommy Doyle and the Myers house to the lineup. Donald Pleasanxce's last film, he is still sorely missed. 8888

5: Halloween H20: Would've ranked higher if not for the whole "We're retconning 4-6 out of existence" thing. Jamie Lee curtis is still worthy of a fantasy and , though there was a lot of Dawson's Creek in this one, very much in the vein of the original. ****

6: Halloween III, Season of the Witch: A great movie, even if it should've been saved for about a decade as a special two part X-Files by John Carpenter. Unfairly held back by the name becoming synonymous with Michael Myers this attempt to do something different is way underappreciated. ****

7: Halloween 5: This is what happens when you rush shit. Though the introduction of the Man in black salvages a little of the film for me. ***

8: Halloween Ressurection: See above re; rushing shit only without being able to use that as an excuse. Nothing much to this movie, though katee Sackhoff is worth watching in anything. **

9-10: In no particular order Rob Zombie's Halloweens: Nice, even if Rob Zombie can't tell the difference between Michael Myers and Jason. I'll rate these when he figures it out.

Not a fan of the HALLOWEEN films overall.

From best to worst...

I -- The original, the classic.  Nothing more need be said.

V -- Contrary to everyone else, I actually like the psychic stuff.  Makes it different for once.  Don Shanks was the best Michael.

IV -- Decently made but routine.  A slap on their wrist for avoiding the nudity when Kathleen Kinmont took off her top.  (A FRIDAY film wouldn't do that!)

II -- See previous description, though at least this one had nudity.

VI -- A mess.  Fabled producer's cut isn't really much better.

VIII (Resurrection)-- Third worst in the series and that might be giving it too much credit.

VII (H20) -- Hated it.  Always did.  No plot, no attempt at making a good movie.  This existed solely for the reason of bringing Curtis back to play Laurie, and her boyish haircut still looks like shit.  H20 should be thankful for HALLOWEEN III, because...

III - Next to GUMMO, quite possibly the worst movie I've ever seen.

ok i finally saw halloween: the curse of michael myers and halloween: resurrection in both first time viewing one of today and yesterday and so here rate of my "halloween" movie series/remake are:

halloween (1978): 7/10 - first one is really great slasher horror movie by killer michael myers and also saw of extended cut version on tv (USA network) probably around 1999 or 2000.

halloween II (1981): 10/10 - this one is my favorite sequel of halloween series there and some sexy nurse lol. john carpenter didnt direct the sequel Sad but only writing and producer with debra hill (both created of halloween).

halloween III (1982): 3/10 - i wish with killer michael myers appear but it only appear michael myers did appear tv first one trailer in this movie. they should not called it halloween.... called it season of the witch without title halloween.

halloween 4: the return of michael myers (1988): 8/10 - good movie in another halloween sequel and cute danielle harris play as jamie lloyd the michael myer's niece (laurie strode's daughter) and donald pleasence who reprise as dr. loomis (from the first two). end scene jamie lloyd became young michael myers who kill his sister from the first one.

halloween 5: the revenge of michael myers (1989): 8/10 - danielle harris and donald pleaence return the sequel again. good kill every scene.

halloween: the curse of michael myers (1995): 6/10 - my first time yesterday and pretty good sequel and donald pleasence as dr. loomis the reprise again and the last.

halloween: H20 (1998): - 8/10 - saw it in theater way back to 1998 and jamie lee curtis return as laurie strode (who from the first two) fought with her brother michael myers. this is good one sequel.

halloween: resurrection (2002): 6/10 - my first time today and
Spoiler (hover to show)
and this is pretty well sequel.

halloween (2007): 10/10 - this one of my favorite remake by rob zombie who direct this film.

halloween 2 (2009): 10/10 - excellent but i prefer to the first one better. hospital scene reminded me of halloween 2 (1981).

He was listing them in the order they were released and not the order in which he ranks them. Notice the little 10/10 thing by the titles.

And Johnny, you just watched The Curse of Micheal Myers and Resurrection???

I'm sorry...

Halloween II-Great kills. Michael looked good. The hospital was creepy as fuck. This is my favorite. We get some nice tits too  Grin
Halloween (the original)-Do I really need to explain?
Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers-Michael was fucking brutal in this one. Good looking mask. He fucked people up. He was bad ass. The curse thing was ok. I might get a curse of the thorn tattoo  Michael Myers
Halloween (Remake)-I like this movie. I watch it and try to remember this isn't supposed to be like the original and I love it.
Halloween 2 (Remake)-If you can get past the stupid white horse and the un-Michael Myers like things that go on...this movie is bad ass...especially the first twenty minutes or so.
Halloween 4-It started out really good. Kind of fell off a bit with the look of the mask and some of the gaps in logic, but hey, I dug it.
Halloween 3-I think this is a good movie. Is Michael Myers in it? No...so it falls a bit, but Tom Atkins is the fucking man.
Halloween 5-Good movie. Worth watching. Don't love it, but hey, it's Michael Myers, so fuck it.
Halloween H20-Too much Dawson's Creek bullshit for me. Forgettable at best.
Halloween: Resurrection: "Trick or Treat Motha Fucka!" Stupidest line ever. The start was cool, but it went to hell.

Actually, I don't hate Resurrection as much as most people. But I can't stand the Curse of MM.

And yeah, Christine rules!

#1= The original- Very creepy
#1.5= Rob Zombies Remake of Part 1-uses a lot of the same storyline, but explains Michael's childhood better.
#2= Part 2 I like the idea of being trapped in a hospital, don't love the part where they blow michael up at the end though
#3 = Part 4, I like the tension between Rachel and slutty cop daughter & the lynch mob of drunks
#4= H20= Like the idea of Laurie Strode going into hiding, although why does she leave Jamie behind but keeps her son John?
#5= Part 5= like the party out at tower farms
#6=Part 6 the curse=  Like the part with Jamie running away with her baby, like how they bring back Tommy Doyle (but don't like his lines/acting?), don't like the secret society
#7=Part 7 Resurrection- Like the beginning with Jamie Lee Curtis, don't like the camera & stuff, acting doesn't seem "genuine"
#8=Part 3 Season of the witch- Doesn't fit well into the series.  Would be better if it was not part of the series I think. The movie isn't horrible, I just don't think it fits with the rest of them.  It would be like putting Scream as a sequel to Nightmare on Elm street.  Both good on their own, just don't fit together.
#9=  Rob Zombie's remake part 2- Don't like the white horse crap...almost too philosophical? Less thinking, more killing...that's what I like in a horror movie.  Save the thinking for a drama movie or somehting.

The first one was great. It was made where as you felt it could happen in your own neighborhood.

2nd one picked up right where the first left off. I dont think that has happened before.

3 hated that it had nothing to do with the series, granted the last time I watched this was when a kid and it bored me. If I have some time to kill later on I'll watch it.

4th. Great sequal.

5. Wouldve been better if those annoying kids wasn't in the movie.

6. My favorite. I loved the cult feel to it. It seemed Myers was more intense in this movie compared to the previous ones. Paul Rudd was a pretty good Tommy Doyle; it was interesting how they brought him back.

7. H20. Seemed a little to mainstream/poppish with the cast of teens they had. Loved that Strode was in this one.

8. Resurrection? It was an embarrassment to the franchise. The only thing worth watching in this movie is when the redhead shows her tits. Busta? ......crap

RZ's remake:
 1. Loved it. I loved how it showed MM's home life and him as a kid.
 2. It was great up until end with the white horse, the mom, and the kid started showing up. I just hope Halloween 3D will not be a disappointment!

1. Halloween (1978) - is an explanation REALLY needed?

2. Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers - atmosphere rivaled that of the original film, loved the foggy streets at night, gave the entire town a haunted feel, BEST SEQUEL

3. Halloween III: Season of the Witch - very creative horror film, great story, great cast, very evil themed Halloween based story

4. Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers - loved the mask, mythology, kills, music, atmosphere (rivaled that of parts 1 & 4), and set design.

5. Halloween II (1981) - good cast, music, continuation from the original, loved Loomis, Laurenseemed kind of thrown away in parts of it though, overall good film

6. Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers - liked the mind control over Jamie story line, the mask could have looked better, Loomis was great as always

7. Halloween: Resurrection - great slasher film, story line VERY basic but I'm okay with that, great atmosphere, moments inside the Myers house were chilling, loved when he stalked the red head in the basement

8. Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later - I liked the psychological toll that living with this memory had on Laurie, that was good story telling, music was pretty good

9. Rob Zombie's Halloween - good prequel, okay remake

10. Rob Zombie's Halloween II - crap

01) HALLOWEEN - for obvious reasons.

02) HALLOWEEN II - nice continuation from the original, I love that it's the same night.

03) H20 - This should have been the LAST chapter... it was great to see Jamie Lee return, and the ending was a perfect conclusion. Or, it should have been...

04) HALLOWEEN 666: THE PRODUCER'S CUT -- I really wish this would get a proper release. I think it's much, much better than the incoherent CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS that got released. I liked when they tried to come up with a plot for why Mike does what  he does.

05) HALLOWEEN 4 - not great, but decent. I like the first half the way Michael comes back most.

06) HALLOWEEN 5 - starts off nicely, then sucks. Boring, typical stuff.

07) RESURRECTION - The WORST of the original series. The series was nicely concluded with H20, then they come up with an absurd way to get Michael alive again. Even worse, it makes me sick that after Jamie Lee agreed to return for H20 to "give something back to the fans", she allowed herself to get murdered in the opening scene. A complete disgrace. Busta Rhymes is an idiot, and the whole "webcam" plot was silly.

I hated Rob Zombies HALLOWEEN and HALLOWEEN 2 remakes ... these were crappy and were not needed.

I like HALLOWEEN III: SEASON OF THE WITCH okay, but it was never intended to be part of this series and really doesn't belong here.
