You Can't Kill The Boogeyman

I'm sure this topic has been done before but since I'm new here I've decided to post it. I'm excluding the Rob Zombie remakes since I didn't really care for them

1. John Carpenter's Halloween I and II - I've always considered the first 2 as one long film because II picks up right where the original left off. Kind of like a volume 1 and 2

2. Halloween 4 The Return of Michael Myers - A very solid sequel, I love how they brought Myers back since he's been in a coma in a burn unit all those years.

3. Halloween 3 Season of the Witch - I get a lot of shit from people for this and I know it doesn't follow the Michael Myers story but I like the plot and feel it's really underrated

4. Halloween H2O - the best of the latter sequels, it was great to see Jamie Lee Curtis back as Laurie Strode and a really surprising ending

5. Halloween 5 The Revenge of Michael Myers - not a strong sequel at all. Starts off good but falls flat midway through the film

6. Halloween Resurrection - creative way to discredit the ending of H2O, Michael finally kills Laurie but little else

7. Halloween The Curse of Michael Myers - I didn't like the Thorn symbol idea with the cultists

Might get moved to the Halloween section. But anyway:

Agreed on parts 1-2. Definitely the the best of the bunch.

Part 4 next. I hated the mask he had in that one, but that ain't enuf to spoil the movie. It was pretty good, and I like the vibe of that movie. Mike is back and his first killin spree has become legendary. Now he's tryin to finish what he started.

I like 5 and 6 close to equally, but I gotta rank 6 ahead of 5. Rudd steals that movie and he's the right kinda hero for a slasher flick; a tormented guy who's a lil weird in his own right. Pleasance was older and slowed down by then, so Loomis wasn't quite up to his usual intensity.

5 bothered me a lil bit due to the goofy shit they mixed in with the cops, and the kids were more annoying in that one.

I was disappointed in H20. Breakin up the continuity ended up bein a mistake imo. Mighta been better if they had Laurie find out about her daughter bein dead and that settin up the conflict, not her just havin nightmares about the 1st 2 movies. Mike looked like shit in this one too.

I thoroughly hated part 8.

i love part 1&2. they we're both very fun to watch. plus it's the first time we get to see michael myers!

6 is pretty fun, i kinda like the cult type feel...

H20 was a good movie in my opinion, re-united laurie and michael for a nice battle

4 was a damn good sequel to bring michael back.

3 is a good stand alone type film.

5 was pretty shitty to me...plus michael looked retarded with that mask...

resurrection was a pretty fail attempt for a halloween movie....plus busta rhymes was very random in being in a halloween flick.

RZ's halloween part 1 was pretty good
part 2 = big pile of dog shit

Cosign. I forgot about those 2. Throw Zombie's H2 in the dung bin with Resurrection. His 1st one is aight. I'd put that one after part 6 on my list.

I know. But then, why isn't it Alan B. McElroy's Halloween 4?

Halloween II is so not a John Carpenter movie. People tend to lump 1 and 2 together as if they are somehow similar and I've never understood this.

Sorry this wasn't moved faster guys, I dunno what happened to all my mods...lol...

Anyhow Here is my Rank:

Halloween 1 - Its the original. Myers is creepy as hell. He's just some strange guy in a costume after some girls who are defenseless. Its a classic that I grew up on. I love how Myers just shows up here and there and just watches. Its creepy.

Halloween 4 - I loved this one as a kid because of Jamie and Rachel. I loved their relationship and I loved the characters, and watching the movie back then, I was a little kid too, so it felt that much more creepy to me.

Halloween 2 - I do like this movie, but for it being the same night as the first, there are too many differences that annoy me. Like Myers looking completely different. I didn't care too much for the hospital setting either. Every time I've been to a hospital its crowded, never empty like that....

Halloween 5 - I don't like this one too much because of the Psychic connection between Jamie and Myers, Dr. Loomis being so nutty, and Rachel being killed off.

H20 - I HATED this movie when it came out. I thought JLC did a terrible acting job in some scenes, and the masks were downright HORRID. The biggest thing I hated about it was ignoring the other sequels and they took away the original score. As I've gotten older and I've seen it more, I enjoy it more.

Halloween 6 - It was bad. The mask didn't even look like a Myers mask, the storyline was weak, and all around it just wasn't good. On the plus side, Paul Rudd and bringing back Tommy Doyle. I loved those ideas. If Thorn wasn't involved and the mask had been better I think I would have enjoyed it.

Rob Zombie's Halloween - The first half was a lot better then I expected it to ever be. But the remake aspect of it was horrible. All the characters were annoying. But still, its a lot better then RZ's H2

Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 - What can I say, it started out good, the whole hospital scene was pretty good. But after that the movie gets pretty shitty. Stupid visions of little Myers and Mikey's Mom. All the characters were usless and completely different then they were in the first film.

I can't fairly place Halloween 3 because I've probably only seen it twice and hated it. I didn't like the entire concept, or the fact that it used the Halloween name.
