I didn't like Part 8 because I think more could have been done with it. Rennie was a good, likeable final girl, though. Her psychic link to Jason was a nice companion to the previous movie's telepathic girl. Made them stand out a bit from the usual run-scream-stab-but-not-deep-enough girls of Fridays past. In a reworked version I would keep her but ditch the cruise to New York. Have her, like Chris from Part 3 and Tina from The New Blood, come back to Crystal Lake to face her demons regarding the child Jason drowning incident. It couldn't have really happened because of the age difference, but since she has an otherworldly link to Jason, she picked up on the spirit energy of Jason's child-ghost which was still lurking in the lake.

She gets to a cabin and somehow Jason is back - maybe child Jason nudges zombie-adult Jason and wakes him up. "Hey, that girl I played with a few years back is here again." Rennie doesn't know he's out there and gets a series of flashes every time she walks through the woods. Maybe when she's getting close to Higgins Haven she picks up on Jason Part 3's psychic energy and sees that version of him until the real one makes an appearance. Would be a cool way to have several fan favorite versions in one film.

Us true horror film junkies? This true horror film junkie has JGTH as one of his favourite F13 films. And as to why they change the formula, that's because people would moan that the films are becoming cookie cutting films, with each one no different from the rest. So i'm glad that they took Jason away from Crystal Lake for Jason Takes Manahttan, Jason Goes To Hell and (even if it's almost too chesey) Jason X.

Instead of bringing Jason to New York why didn't they take Jason to the small town near Crystal Lake? Like a victim got away from Jason, And runs to town. Jason follows him/her.
Then if they still had the same high budget, then they could spend alot more time in the town. And it would still be different and unique. Jason Pt. 4

Luv this idea. They had to pretend 8 never happened at the start of GTH cuz he was a child in a NY sewer. Leave him in Crystal Lake, but go into the town. Have him just killin people in their neighborhood like Myers and Freddy. Jason was entitled to a rampage in the town, tho they did get to that in GTH, albeit it in a weirdass fashion.

Instead of bringing Jason to New York they should have let Jason go loose in Haddonfield, making people believe that Michael Myers had come back and after a big body count, Jamie Lloyd had to stand face to face with a new monster.

What could they have done with Friday the 13th 8? Anything other than what they did! I could only justify taking Jason to Manhattan if he was going there because he had found Tommy Jarvis and was going to finish some business, then have him making his way back to Crystal Lake when he disposed of him. I might use that as an idea for a fan fic later, but Jason actually in Manhattan for an entire film was just a bad idea.

Well, I love these movies, have since I was a kid when I used to watch them with my older brother back when he was both my idol and my best friend, so for me I like to pay tribute, to kind of try to give something back to films that gave me such good times and great memories. Also, I think you can do a lot of great stuff without fubaring the mythos of the series because so much is always left open and so many questions left unanswered, which is a lot of the reason why I decided to do my fan film with a heavy Friday V base. I always wanted to know what happened to Victor, to Reggie, to Pam, I wonder what happened to Tommy and Megan, too and one day I'll explore that too, maybe even with this idea as a base.

Anyway, long winded and possibly pointless speech over. Thanks, Hesvor.

Kinda like Jason takes surburbia, I like it could definitely have worked especially better than Jason Takes Manhattan.

What I would like to see them do is have Jason just finally attack the actual town of Crystal Lake. For years all you had to do to avoid Jason was stay out of the woods, so I think it would be nice to see him just lay siege to the town itself for a night while in pursuit of a victim who got away. He did it with Alice, so why not do it again? Maybe this time with Chris, Trish, or Tommy.

I've always wanted them to do that. It's great to see Myers walking around his town, bumping into stoned kids on street corners and breaking into stores to get masks and weapons. He even broke into a school in Part 2, and prowled around people's backyards, alleys, etc. Voorhees needs to cruise up and down that same street Annie walked along in the original Friday the 13th, if for nothing else than to steal some clothes, furniture for his shack, all that jazz. By the way Jet, I just put up a new piece of our story. It's rockin' pretty good, isn't it?
