I know this thread hasn't been bumped in a while but I just saw this movie and I liked and it was good for 1970's film it had a lot suspense and the main character was believable though
the killer is still in the shadows but it could be her boyfriend doing it

No. It doesn't really seem so.

Its a pretty decent movie. Although its called Black Christmas, the basic plot and story have nothing to do with Christmas lol...it just takes place around (or is it on?) Christmas. No killer santas or anything lol

ya I heard you never see the killer you just see POV shots
but if you want santa killers I'd recommend Silent Night Deadly Night

So I finally watched this,Ive owned it for a while but I kept falling asleep. This movie is boring,I ended up fast forwarding just to get through it.Even though its an influencial film it lacks in many areas.
So theres really no back story on the house or killer?
In one scene its truly looks like the boyfriend is killing.
when theres a missing person youd think people would check the house,or the cops at the end.

Its funny cause some scenes are kinda boring, but they get to the phone calls and kills pretty quick. These days it takes 45-60minutes for some movies to do anything.

As I said before, it took me like 2 viewings to start to like it, and that was 10+ years apart

this movie is terrific.. i cannot believe i didnt see it until a month or two ago.  thanks for recommending it fellow horror fans.  easily one of my favorites now all time!  i imagine christmas from my younger days when i watch this, its just got that real life feel.  the telephone calls simply creep me the fuck out.  im sure the ladies were terrified by unknown callers for decades after... yes.. happened.  and the first kill is an instant classic.  the party search for the girl touched my heart. i love movies that get to me.  great cast.  great acting.  i'm punching myself for not seeing it sooner... but i was never good friends with big horror fans until meeting some of you here.

so thank you guys! Cheesy

Edit:  Boring in certain parts? Thats fine with me.  Godfather can be boring in certain parts for someone.  Take a prescription pill and relax and enjoy.

i always think back to how i first heard about this movie.. they mentioned it in an episode of forensic files back in like 03 or somethin... it struck my interest so i went and bought it... and remember watching it for the first time and LOVING the ending...it wasnt till i joined this forum that i learned  the history of the film and the impact it had (but not fully recognized) on horror..

I can't remember how I first heard about this movie.I'm not sure if it was on TV and I watched it,or if it was word of mouth or if my parents rented it from the video store when I was a kid.I do remember that I became an instant fan of it after my first viewing.
