The 3D in the theater is really the only thing it had going for it. The 3D at home really sucked. Without the effects, the movie isn't worth watching, IMO.

The 3D in theaters was great, the movie is hella cool, I loved it! I got the DVD and the 3D isn't the same of course, unless I watch it on the TV we have in our living room, which is a big ass flat screen with a 3D Ready mode and on that TV it's damn near as good as in theaters.....

Anyone know if this movie has already aired on any of the movie channels? I haven't been able to find any info on that. I was curious if maybe they'd play it next month.

it has not kat. but F13 09 has. some times movies take forever to come on the movie channels and just don't. it took Halloween 2 yrs to go on tmc. and the corpse bride never came on any movie channel.

I want to see it in 3D at home.
The DVD I rented from Netflix wasn't 3D. I read that to buy the DVD is asking for a disaster, as the glasses end up scratching the DVD to the point where its unplayable....plus I didn't like it enough to buy it. I just want to see it in 3D again now that I know home 3D works good on my new TV.
I highly doubt it will be on the movie channels in 3D though

no it won't be 3D trust me. also renting the movie is not in 3D, its just called MBV without the 3D people would just steel the glasses. and i doubt streaming it would be in 3D. also kat, i got my copy of MBV3D for 3$ at a closing down block buster. it is in perfect condition.

Ah, I didn't think about that. But our Blockbuster moved out before xmas. Oh well.
I hear that normal blue/red glasses don't work with it. That it came with pink/green glasses and you can only use those?

Watching this in HD, not in 3d...on a 47inch TV and the CGI bothers me. Where as it didn't bother me on a smaller TV not in HD.
Why did Harry kill everyone in the hospital and the mine (both times)? Why did he rip out their hearts? Maybe they explain it, I don't remember and I haven't finished the movie yet. Gonna watch the rest tomorrow.

I don't think it's explained why he killed the workers in the mine or in the hospital, other than he went insane. The same goes for ripping the hearts from out of people. It's explained in the original why Harry did the things he did in greater detail, and in this remake they just do a half assed comb-over in my opinion. In the original the methane gas explosion was caused by the foremen of the crew who left early to go to the Valentine's Day dance and it was six weeks later when they found Harry who killed, and ate his dead coworkers. In the remake I don't think they made a reference that he ate the workers, he was just off his rocker for no apparent reason it seems.

Yeah, in the remake they say he killed the people in the mine to conserve the air for himself (I wonder if they said how long he was down there, I don't recall). Silly, but ok, I can deal with it. But it makes no sense why he'd go after the people in the hospital or the teens. I guess cause he'd be in a coma and just went nutty from his original experience...no clue...
I totally forgot I had this to finish today LOL

Oh I see, well that must have slipped right past me because as far as I'm concerned the movie was just a blur to me. I never saw this movie in 3D, and I feel that is probably the only reason to watch this movie. The movie is basically a bare bones version of the original, with 3D effects and a terrible ending. I think they just thought to themselves..Hmm how could we use 3D to our advantage in a horror film..I got it how about this 80's Canadian slasher with a Valentine's Day theme and a killer miner..Hmm that might be just crazy enough to work..but let's skim all the subplot, pace, and human characterizations..not needed.
The identity of the new killer is also painstakingly easy not to notice..he was a dead giveaway from the beginning of the film.

this IMO was a good bad movie. it was dumb but i did like some parts. kills were good and on my tv the CG was not that bad. what pissed me off was that the cheating cop cock hole was not killed. not sauing cheating on some one deserves death in real life but in horror movie land it does. the ending was bitter sweet. it makes not sense how the mines blew up. shooting gas tanks does not work. also why was the killer mostly unharmed? dumb. also i think the killer switching personas all those times did not make sense and made plot holes. but over all the kills were nice and was better then most horror remakes.
