Kat, if I recall, Tom forgot to set something or turn something off.
Although in the theater the 3D was fun, this remake will never hold up to the original. The storyline just didn't cut it. It was almost like two different movies with the beginning attack and then the end story.
IMO, they threw in the hearts being cut out to take something from the original and it didn't work.
Needless to say, I am not a big fan of this one at all. Sadly, I'm sure there will be a part 2.
I am so bummed though cause before this was made, a script was submitted to do a sequel to the original and it sounded awesome!

a sequal to the original would have been awesome.... done back then would have had the same good 80s feel to it... unlike the overdone.. yet underthought movies of today...

I didn't get to see it when it was in theaters but I did pick up the DVD the day it was released and enjoyed it almost as much as I love the original.I'm not all that crazy about 3D so I've only watched the 2D version so far but I may check out the 3D at some point.I really liked the kills in this one and I'm glad they changed it up a bit from the original.

the story had enough elements from the original in it to keep it tied in but also added new elements to make it its own as well.... i hate it when remakes completely disregard  the original film....kinda like RZs H2....

I didn't think it was an awful movie, good for a watch or two or three...not a fav of mine. But better in 3D in the theater.

And the Halloween premake, the only thing that I dont like is the ending-which kinda ruins everything for me

Sorry to bump, just saw this.

Thought the effects were cool (even though I watch the 2D version), but as a movie in general it was just stupid. And the supporting characters were really lame. I was actually quite surprised by how gory it was, and taken aback by how early into the film the kills started. BTW, I thought the whole film was pretty plain and the dialogue was even silly at times, but towards the end it got better. Predictable, but it was an improvement.
Another thing that struck me was how boring the scenery was, a good atmosphere is not emphasized enough, if at all anymore. The only places I liked was the supermarket and Axels Fathers house. The mines coulda shoulda woulda been cool if they had played into it more.

Overall, quite disappointed really.

Loved this film first saw it in 2d but its even cooler in 3d some of the kills are well thought out and my personal favourite has to be the one where he sticks the shovel into that womans head and then bashes it thru her skull, her body drops to the floor and her head slides down the shovel head, looks amazing in 3d!

The amount of hype this movie got I went into pretty excited. After watching it, well, I didn't really care for it.

I absolutely love this movie! I like it alot better than the original actually. This was so much fun seeing in the theater. The 3D doesnt work that well on DVD, but its still great to have.
