I didn't like the mask all that much, and I think it was kinda overrated. Kane Hodder is a good Jason, so what? It still didn't save the movie. But that's just my opinion. If you think different, then that's ok.

I was just disappointed that the filmmakers didn't keep the humor from JASON LIVES in this one. The rest of it is fine, other than changing name of camp back. I guess it was supposed to be 10 years after Part 6.

I thank goodness that they didn't!  The last thing the series needed was more comedy.  My opinion is that the humor in Part 6 severely undermined Jason.  Jason seemed really wimpy in that film, and that's not because C.J. Graham did anything wrong.  It's because the mood was so light it was difficult to look at it as a horror film.

Part 7 was hardcore Jason and I appreciated that.  Part 6 was my least favorite in the entire series, while Part 7 was my favorite.

The rename back to Crystal Lake was never explained, but I'm glad they did anyway. As far as the Jason Lives comedy, I'm glad they didn't do that in The New Blood. The New Blood was much darker and that kind of comedy would not fit into the film. I say let Jason Lives be Jason Lives and let The New Blood be The New Blood.

Jason was MUCH scarier in Pt. 7. Thankfully.    Yeah, I guess it was best to keep 7 darker than 6. The humor wouldn't have fit.

WHY....does Jason leave the "large delusion" aka metal spike..in the porch? What is the point? It really does NOT seem like something Jason would do.

Good question, it really doesn't fit his MO.

Heres a funny post from IMDB about part 7 from a few years ago that is funny as hell. Tongue

1)   Jason finds the blood of his victims in
this story to be significantly different from
the blood of all his victims in the past five
installments.
2)   The way to a man's heart is through his
back.
3)   The way to a woman's mind is through
her eyeball.
4)   David scores his drugs from Colombia.
5)   Russell's uncle's cabin's kitchen will
always look like closing time at the New
York stock exchange as long as his friends
are around.
6)   Tina is deemed "the crazy girl" even
though Sandra is the one who confesses that
she can hear Russell's wallet talking to her
from time to time.
7)   Mentally launching television sets at
sleazy doctors' heads has proven to be a
wonderful stress-reliever.
Cool   You know you've lucked out with the
parents you got when you yearn to be
reunited with your drunken and abusive
father, and your mother forces you to seek
help from the crooked local shrink.
9)   Some homo actors are not too convincing
at playing hetero characters.

10)   Some hetero actors are not too
convincing at playing hetero characters.
11)   Jason gets very angry when people like
Eddie open birthday presents that aren't
addressed to them.
12)   Potted plants are the perfect place in
which to store your severed heads.
13)   If you ever plan on making fun of the
crazy, telekinetically gifted girl next door,
leave your jewelry at home before doing so.
14)   If you ever plan on throwing a birthday
bash at a cabin on a lake known for its
infamous murder history, leave your party
favors at home before doing so.
15)   Robin thinks that Maddy needs a little
"touch-up work" on her face; Jason thinks
that Maddy needs a little "touch-up work"
on her throat.
16)   Kate is drawn to men that look like
underwater sea creatures.
17)   Ben is a medical marvel in that he was
born without a skull.
18)   Eddie will be dearly missed by his soap-
on-a-rope.
19)   Nothing tickles the funny bone more
than telling "big pink elephant" jokes to
your demented new girlfriend.
20)   Nothing tickles the funny bone more
than watching your mile-high booty caller
fall out of bed.

21)   If you're stuck naked in the middle of a
lake with a murderous psychopath on your
tail, try screaming and flailing your limbs in
place, for you might just scare him away.
22)   If you're stuck in the middle of the
woods with a murderous psychopath on
your tail, hide in a shed loaded with sharp
tools ~ but don't touch any of them, for you
might just hurt someone.
23)   Melissa could stand to eat a piece of that
birthday cake.
24)   Why bother paying for your tools at
Home Depot when you can take all the
scattered ones around Crystal Lake for free?

25)   If you hope to score big with the
resident pothead after giving yourself a
makeover, scan the perimeter of the dark
woods outside to find your object of
affection before checking to see if he's still
inside the house.
26)   Tina would surely make "star employee
of the month" if she ever decided to work
for a furniture moving company.
27)   Dr. Crews is often highly regarded for
his proper demeanor as a professional
practitioner, especially when he is observed
picking eye boogers out of his tear ducts in
front of his patients.
28)   No matter which concealed cabin house
you ever happen to visit, you can always
find a stray cat hiding in one of the closets.

29)   A sleeping bag is a great device in
which to shield yourself when going up against a superhuman psycho with a big machete.
30)   To this day, Jason Voorhees is still
bitter about never having been picked for
one of the Camp Crystal Lake baseball
teams, even though it was undeniably clear
that he'd provide a killer swing.
31)   Nothing says "Happy Birthday!" like
getting a tent spike stuck in your spine.
32)   Even in death, Russell never tires from
playing practical jokes on his living lady
friends, as demonstrated in the way his
corpse is seen repeatedly falling out of trees
and scaring them.
33)   Even in death, Kate still doesn't know
where Ben would like his breakfast.
34)   Michael's car is deathly allergic to oil.
35)   The only thing worse than being shot
down by Melissa is being shot down by
some of the finest science fiction magazines
in the continental United States.
36)   Even after Melissa decides that Nick
ultimately gives her the creeps, she STILL
wants to tap that @ss

Could'nt help posting that since it is funny as hell. Especially saying Michael's car being alergic to oil. Jason Pt. 5
