Behind-the-scene video from MTV. The mask looks pretty cool.

The mask looks essentially identical to the Freddy vs. Jason 'battle-scarred' mask:

There's a legend around here. A killer buried, but NOT dead. A curse on Crystal Lake, a death curse. Jason Voorhees' curse. They say he died as a boy, but he keeps coming back. Few have seen him and lived. Some have even tried to stop him. NO ONE can.

I'm happy with the sign, im very pleased with the mask...but it will take ALOT more than that to make a good movie, alas the script is whats most important. I don't care how good Jason looks the movie will fail if the script is shite.

Do you know why Jason keeps coming back from the dead? Or how? That's something us fans can only guess about, wouldn't you agree?!Um, nooooooo.  The moment he was struck by lightning in part 6, he became inhuman, an unstoppable walking corpse bent on continuing his vengeance upon helpless campers.  There's no guessing to it.

What other explanation would you need beyond him being undead?  That's like asking for a more thorough explanation as to why Superman flies.

There is something you guys need to understand about storytelling.  Thorough exposition STOPS the story from unfolding.  It stops the movie right on it's tracks.  That is why filmmakers rely on minimal exposition and "visual" storytelling to get the point across.  Use your common sense to figure things out.  Put story elements together.

You want some bookworm popping out of nowhere explaining every detail as to why Jason is unstoppable?  The one continuing failure with these slasher film remakes and remakes all together, is over-explaining.

You take away their mystique by doing that.  You end up getting to know this villain as if he's your best friend.  It takes the fear factor away from them.

They should keep these things subtle and ambiguous.  That generates the fear of the unknown, and thus makes the villain all the more legendary and above all else FRIGHTENING.

Just have to accept that we weren't put on this Earth to "get it", especially about the supernatural and the paranormal.
Prior to "The Final Chapter" it was generally assumed that our fav slasher"s long life was due to 1)Strong CON/2)Rage /3) luck...Part VI on= undead...(though the novel for part VI hint at occult Practices in the voorhees family for years- and jason was always refered to as "different" and "odd" even in childhood" with a " piercing gaze"

Everyone knows Jason doesn't die because he was Pamela's "special special boy" with an extra emphasis on special..  Wink

I hope they don't really make it look like the tcm posters, its needs to be orignal or old school.

We have confirmed rumors floating around the web this weekend that Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema plan on unveiling the first teaser trailer for their remake of Friday the 13th at this year's San Diego Comic Con, which will take place July 24-27. What does this mean for us fans? It means that if the trailer is shown at the Con it will hopefully find it's way online that weekend for all of us to check out (someone get a camera installed in your hat!)

Is it just me, or does this all seem to be going a little fast?
