Nah, I don't think so. I think it was just the way he was thinking of the character himself.

I took a quick peek to see if anyone else posted this, if I missed it, sorry for the dup, but I found this on another board I visit and while I have not been excited ONCE for this new Friday, I have to say, I like the sign. It looks awesome and that is a big leap for me to say about anything to do with this new movie.
EDIT:
Editing your post to add the write up that goes with the image, hope you don't mind ~ Kat

Greetings from Camp Crystal Lake. I told you I would try and leak out a photo now and then, so here is a sneak peak at the Camp Crystal Lake sign! (Click the image to see it larger)
We deliberated for a long time about what that sign would look like cause we wanted it to be really creepy. The photo was shot on set in Bastrop, Texas, where for the next couple of days we are shooting a couple of death scenes. One is an homage to one of my favorite kills and the other involves a machete, someone's skull and third degree burns. These are very important kills as I have Guy Stodel from New Line and Dan Levine from Paramount here just to make sure. Talk about pressure!
For the role of Donnie in the film, we brought back an actor who we loved in The Hitcher- Kyle Davis. He was so hilarious as the clerk in the convenience store we asked screenwriters Shannon and Swift to write a role for him. Kyle was great and always comes up with some hilarious lines. This week's gem was,"Came this close to hitting the start button on the wup ass machine Boy!" You will laugh your ass off at him.
We are entering the final week of the film here and Friday, June 13th is coming soon... what a night on set that will be... stay tuned!!!

Looks almost identical to the sign seen in, for example, the ending of
Jason Lives

Actually it looks totally different from that one. It looks just like the one from Pt. 1
I never really noticed till today how different the Pt. 1 & 6 signs were

Really? I haven't watched the sixth movie in a long time, so maybe I was confusing it with the sign from the first film. At any rate, I'm definitely sure this is an exact duplicate of one of the signs from one of the other movies.

Here are the two signs
Close to one another...yet totally different...
The new one looks like an old version of the 1st one. I'm glad they got it right

There's a legend around here. A killer buried, but NOT dead. A curse on Crystal Lake, a death curse. Jason Voorhees' curse. They say he died as a boy, but he keeps coming back. Few have seen him and lived. Some have even tried to stop him. NO ONE can.
