no I would't say that, because there have been times in Friday history they've started filming and had cast changes.

Well if they started filming early that means they probably have most of the main charactors already and have plenty of time for changes

To clarify: they've begun shooting exterior scenes yesterday, like horizon shots and whatnot. They're not actually shooting any of the actors until the 21st.

I just hoped they don't do something stupid like they did with Jason X, show it somewhere let it get stolen and then everyone in America downloads it and know one goes to the theatre to see it.  Jason X was a really good movie in the f13 series but got no love because the studio messed up.

Yes the studio did mess up with Jason X, because they actually *made* it. Illegal downloads were hardly the reason people were not going to the theaters in droves to see this shi... *ahem* film.

Jason's new mask has been seen - no picture, though

Quote
Once again I can't go into much detail on what I saw, but let me just say that fans will be happy to know that Jason's hockey mask will not disappoint. It looks slighty different and it's very menacing. Platinum Dunes producer Brad Fuller tells us, "It's such an iconic mask that you don't want to mess with it too much."

Fuller also had a pretty hilarious story about the FX designer who had a little airport trouble. "The designer carries the mask from LA in a steel case, takes it to the airport. [Airport security] runs it through and it looks like a hockey mask - and they say 'Were going to have to take you in the back.' When they get in the back they ask him 'Is that Jason Voorhees' mask?!' They pretty much flipped out asking to take photos with it, which obviously they couldn't."

Nana Visitor (Babysitter Wanted) has been cast as the legendary Pamela Voorhees in Platinum Dunes' Friday the 13, which is currently lensing in Austin, Texas for release on Friday, February 13, 2009, according to Screen Geeks. She apparently won’t be in the film for long, but she has had a mold made of her head, the website reports.

Ah I remember her as the Bajoran from DS9, she kinda cool for that part I guess.

Sorry I haven't been posting the news in the first post or on the website. It seems like I haven't really had a moment to myself. I'll fix it tomorrow.

Oh, and Nana's official website says Mrs. Voorhees gets decapitated very early in the film.

I don't think I've seen her in anything

We are proud to announce today that major motion picture production company, Platinum Dunes has partnered with Bloody-Disgusting.com to launch the official Platinum Dunes website and blog. What you'll find over at the Platinum Dunes Page is info on all of Platinum Dunes' productions, along with an ongoing blog by Producer Brad Fuller. If you click here you can read Fuller's first three blog entries and leave comments that will be read and responded to directly by Fuller, one of the producers behind THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, THE AMITYVILLE HORROR and the forthcoming remakes of FRIDAY THE 13TH, A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, ROSEMARY'S BABY and THE BIRDS. The new official Platinum Dunes page will be a place for official confirmation for all rumors you hear and will also be a place where you'll be seeing some HUGE news in the coming weeks.
