Perhaps, but still he's Michael fucking Myers. If he wants Laurie dead, he just kills her. He wants to kidnap her for some perverse reason, he just does it. I don't see why he would need to pussy foot around killing other teenagers (how about Mrs. Elrod's neighbor Alice in Halloween II?) unless he wanted too because he was deranged. Like I said, if they allow Halloween II to fit in to the new storyline (1,2,7,8) than there certainly is a way to make Halloween 4,5,6 fit into that story line. All I'm saying is this: none of the Halloween sequels, including II, seem to match up with the original. It almost feels like there was this movie, Halloween. And there was this completely different movie, Halloween II and all it's related sequels.
People talk about the two story lines in the Halloween movies being 1,2,4,5,6 and 1,2,7,8. I see the two story lines like this: 1 and 2,4,5,6,7,8.
Well, as for Mrs. Elrod's neighbor...I always chalked that up to the fact that Myers thought he was going to be discovered, that perhaps she had seen Myers.
I think 1 & 2 fit pretty well together since its the same night. Yes, we do discover they are siblings, which had nothing to do with the first movie...but that in itself allows for wondering what his plans for laurie was. I mean you can't say he was going to kidnap her, its obvious for some scenes that he was going to kill her.

If he wanted Laurie dead why not kill her? Why kill Annie and Bob and Lynda?
Personally, I always thought that somebody in the institution had taught Myers that if he wants to kill someone, he has to do it in style.
Why not? Somebody taught him to drive a car just as well.

That's my point exactly. He wants her dead, but he must do it with style, like I said. Therefor he kills the people around her, exibit them around the house, then... well, you get the idea.

I really dont think this idea fits into the film. Ok maybe if it had been thought about since the original film. But throwing it in to just give the reason for myers 6 sequals into the series makes it a hard to swallow plot line.
