Just watched the first 4 movies

hey newfan, im glad u ended up watching them all.  its interesting to hear what you had to say about each film as a first time viewer.  you gotta admitt part 5 was an interesting idea following "the final chapter."  i dont mind Roy as much as other people do though.  part 4 is probably my favorite.

Part 5 really had to grow on me. I wasn't a huge fan at first, but the more times I see it, the more I enjoy it.

[Batty Part 2]

Anyways to everyone else. I finally did it and saw all the movies and here is my opinion

Part 1. Really liked this and cant believe I did not know Jason was not the killer in this.

Yeah, but that's what makes the movie work. I'd have hated to watch it if I'd known Mrs. Voorhees was the killer going in.

Part 2. This is part 1 over with Jason as the killer. Maybe the creepiest Jason of the series. Loved the sack look for 1 movie. Def enjoyed it.

I've always liked the sack look too (ironic since I'm an actual hockey goalie). Glad to see another on board!

Part 3. First iconic hockey mask Jason, although I thought it would show him get it. Pregnant girl kill was uh disturbing. The chase sequence was AWESOME

Jesus. I never thought of it that way. That has got to be--simply because of the pregnancy--the most brutal kill in the series. I don't care for the film though. One thing 3 does have going for it, is the hottest F13 girls.

Part 4. Maybe my favorite. Good atmosphere. The gore was awesome and well done. Really like Corey Feldman. Dude from Back to the Future dance lol Awesome Jason portrayal, scary.

Savini returned to do the make up effects, hence the awesome gore.

Part 5. WTF? Oh my God I felt like I was totally cheated when IT TURNS OUT IT WAS ROY THE PARAMEDIC, CMON. And my God what halfway house gives crazy teens axe unupervised? If anything I thought it might be Tommy killing for a while.

Yeah, but the two greasers dressed like Marlon Brando in The Wild One make it ALL worth it. Oh, and how can you not like Junior and Ethel?

Part 6.  Really liked the self referrential humor in this one. Birth of a zombie Jason. I enjoyed this one

Agreed. The humor makes this one special. So does the shot between Megan's legs...

Part 7. Jason vs Carrie. I love the ending with Jason getting houses dropped on him and such. Best looking Jason with his spine showing.

Fuck this movie. LOL

Part 8. I thought this movie was Jason in Manhattan? More like Jason on a boat. I guess Jason can teleport now. The ending in the sewer was dumbfounding. Horrible but entertaining.

If my second killer theory is wrong (and it is) Jason has been teleporting since the Final Chapter.

Part 9. This movie just sucks and took itself seriously

Correction: This movie KICKS ASS and thank Christ one of these movies FINALLY took itself seriously. Yes, I'm one of the five people who digs Jason Goes to Hell.

Part 10. This movie sucks but does not take it seriously. Kinda the Freddys Dead of Friday films. Looked like it was filmed on scy fy network.

I don't know. Jason's walking around killing annoying young people. Isn't that pretty much the crux of the Friday the 13th universe? Yeah, Jason X is dumb, but so is The New Blood, The Final Chapter, Jason Lives, A New Beginning, Jason Takes Manhattan...

Freddy vs Jason. It was entertaining and new what it wanted to do.

I barely remember this movie, but I always thought that girl from Destiny's Child was pretty. That is all.

Remake. Loved it. My first and favorite.

I'm 50-50 on the remake. Jason is fucking AWESOME in the remake. To the point, that I laugh at his prior characterization. I also dug the kidnapping, and Jenna and Clay and all that. But what ruins the remake--for me at least--is Trent and Wade and kid who got the arrow through the head (seriously, what's his fuckin' name?) and his chica there. I couldn't really stand any of the "teen fodder" in this movie.

So part 2, 3, 4, and 6 are my absolute favorites of the originals. It seems like the series changed at part 6 and went in a different direction so I like 2, 3, and 4 as the best. With part 6 not far behind.

2 and 6 are awesome. I don't care much for 3 and 4 myself though.

I really liked New Blood for its concept and enjoyed watching it. Its just a notch below these.

I find it to be bland, boring, and predictable. And the telekinesis was coming so far out of left field that it was downright jarring as a Friday the 13th subplot.

I have mixed feelings on the original cause it wasnt Jason but I understand its importance to horror movies. Just not one I really like.

NO! There are plenty of horror movies out there that don't have Jason, and a lot of them are wicked! Don't get caught up in being a "Jason" fanboy. The genre as a whole beckons you. Walk toward the darkness...

I still find Manhattan entertaining aside from the terribleness of the script and stuff.

The script wasn't nearly as bad as the direction. But it's got a metal chick in it, so there's that.

New Beggining and Final Friday, I felt cheated after watching them.

Really? I just had fun.

X was just B movie fun. the VS movie was fun.

Hmmm, apply that attitude to 5 and 9 and watch what happens...

So there you have it. I must say I really found redeeming qualities in all of them, well mostly. I cant believe I just now discovered how awesome Friday films are. Thanks for letting me share what I thought.

@Mike     I have to admit I was liking New Beggining. I had NO idea that the killer wasnt Jason the whole movie. Maybe it is just where that at the end it was really shocking. I had so much fan watching them all. I never in a million years realized how awesome Jason was. Kinda wished I would have gave him a chance back when I was only into Freddy but it did make it awesome to watch the movies in order not knowing anything about them and wondering what was coming with the next film. It was great times.

I just loved the remake for being my first Jason movie and it started my interest and got to see them all, which is an awesome thing it has done for me.

Ill try not to get caught up in the Jason fanboy thing lol
