HELLO FELLOW NETFLIX USERS

netflix has more shitty movies than good ones.  we're all friends here so it's important that we help eachother find the good movies.  this can be a place we chat, review movies we've seen, and point out hidden treasures.

The Game starring Michael Douglas and Sean Penn is currently on Netflix.  If you've never seen it, it's great.  It's the perfect movie to watch when you're in the mood for a psychological thriller.

I finished watching the Game and I thought it was a pretty good mystery/thriller. I'd definitely watch it again.

Hobo with a Shotgun is a must see for fans of Grindhouse cinema or Troma films. I bought the dvd before I signed up for Netflix and I'm glad I did.

I don't really have any other recommends other than I Saw the Devil. I mentioned it on the forum before and thought it was a fantastic movie. Highly recommend.

Tucker & Dale vs. Evil

Expecting to enjoy a relaxing vacation at their rundown mountain cabin, backwoods boys Tucker and Dale see their peaceful trip turn into a nightmare when college kids camping nearby accuse the duo of being psychotic killers.

Its a spoofy horror movie sorta. Not so much SPOOFING other horror movies, but its a comedy with gore and I recommend it

My Soul to Take

A not so critically acclaimed slasher from Wes Craven. It certainly isn't the bes film the genre has to offer, but its pretty fun nonetheless. A big slasher fan will appreciate a lot of Craven's signature flourishes.

Mum & Dad was entertaining.  it's a british movie about a dimented family of murderers lol.  other than that i recently watched Don't Be Afraid of the Dark with Katie Holmes.  It wasn't very good but worth 1 watch.

A prep school student needing money agrees to "babysit" a blind man, but the job is not at all what he anticipated.

A paranoid mathematician searches for a key number that will unlock the universal patterns found in nature.

A police detective goes undercover in the sleazy and underground gay subculture of New York City to catch a serial killer who is murdering numerous gay men with S&M tactics.

Recent college graduate Benjamin Braddock is trapped into an affair with Mrs. Robinson, who happens to be the wife of his father's business partner and then finds himself falling in love with her daughter, Elaine.

Karl Childers, a simple man hospitalized since his childhood murder of his mother and her lover, is released to start a new life in a small town. He meets a kid named Frank, who has an abusive step father.

Netflix isn't letting me search to make sure these are all still on there. so sorry if they aren't. I know a few still are for a fact, but one's like "Hell Night" i'm not sure of.

You could try:

Harper's Island, its a 13 (I think) episode TV series. Its basically about this wedding party on an island where there was once a serial killer. The murders begin again when they all arrive and they are stuck on the island. They show a good amount of gore, and yes, it was supposed to end at 13 even though it got canceled. There is 1-2 deaths in each episode so there is always something to look forward to, and there are tons of people in it that you know from something else. get past first episode or two and it gets much better! I've now seen it twice and think it was really good. I wish they'd kept making shows like this.

My review of the series (spoilers are hidden): http://www.shiversofhorror.com/blog/2009/12/03/harpers-island-the-complete-series-2009/

Fear Island This is about a group of college kids who go to a cabin in the woods to party. People start dying like usual. It wasn't bad, it wasn't great either.

My review (semi spoilerish, but nothing major): http://www.shiversofhorror.com/blog/2012/05/24/fear-island-2009/

Hell Night was also a fun movie if you haven't seen that one. "This cult-favorite indie horror flick follows a group of four fraternity/sorority pledges as they brave a night of hazing in creepy old Garth Manor, where a crazed killer — the sole survivor of a massacre at the house years before — still roams the halls." Not sure if this one is still on there as the Netflix site is having issues right now.

My Review: http://www.shiversofhorror.com/blog/2011/09/22/hell-night-1981/

Dead & Breakfast: "Six friends get more than they bargained for when they spend the night at a bed-and-breakfast in the backwater town of Lovelock. When the B&B’s owner and the chef don’t survive the night, the travelers are the prime suspects. But the tables (and suspicions) turn when the townspeople become possessed by an evil spirit and besiege the young people in the B&B."

Another movie with tons of people in it. I honestly don't remember this one right now. I think it got kinda "blah" towards the end. Again, not sure if Netflix still has it or not.

My Review: http://www.shiversofhorror.com/blog/2010/05/18/dead-and-breakfast-2004/

Also, if you haven't seen before, for horror tv shows they have the entire Buffy The Vampire Slayer series on there, Angel, Supernatural...and if you don't mind things a little "girly" The Vampire Diaries....as you can tell by my Signature here, I LOVE The Vampire Diaries lol
