Where did you see your first Friday the 13th movie? Did you catch it in the theatre? Or was it late night HBO like me? Share your experiences!!!

Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning on VHS in '86.
I was five years old. I watched the beginning scene where they dig Jason up and he kills the two guys then comes for Corey Feldman. I didnt know the story or who the characters were and it scared the living shit out of me. I stopped watching after that.
I think what scared me about it was that this guy with a hockey mask gets dug up, comes back to life kills two people, stands up, sees Corey Feldman, who is a little kid like myself. He then grabs a machette and walks towards him and goes to kill him. I couldn't take it.
Then I watched Jason Lives on VHS in '87 from a copy my brothers friend had. I fell in love with F13 after that. My favorite in the series. A good example of all around great moviemaking.

Funny story about "A New Beginning." The first time I saw that particular movie was at about the age of 7 at the family Christmas party, my cousins, Johnny and Shane, had it and someone said something about wanting to watch a movie......

I first saw the movies on TV (I don't remember what channel, but twenty or so years ago these movies played a lot on USA, WPIX 11 out of New York, and sometimes Channel 6, East Coast) when I was in fourth or fifth grade. I'd heard a lot about Jason, seen the trailer for Jason Takes Manhattan, and seen the awesome-looking VHS covers at the video store, and was dying to see the movies. My dad had somewhat of an interest in them, and agreed to let me watch them if they played on TV, with the sex scenes and explicit gore taken out.
Since they played on TV all the time in the late eighties, early nineties, it was only about a week later that the original and Part 2 were playing back-to-back nights, a Thursday and a Friday. That Thursday I had some kind of church obligation and had to go with my family to our church, which for some reason, was over a half hour from home. Our VCR timer record didn't work, and we didn't get home in time for me to catch the movie, but I did see the last forty or so minutes, and the scene in the lake, at the end, scared the shit out of me.
The next night my father and I watched Part 2, and I loved it. The next one I saw after that was Part 5, so at that point I was getting a little anxious to see an F13 that actually had Jason in it, and had him wearing the mask. For the next few years I caught the movies either on TV or at friends' houses.

Told the story before but I'll tell it again. I had these friends on my block and their mom took us all out to a movie when I was 3. That movie...Friday the 13th Part 5. Great entry in the series even if it wasn't Jason. As a kid I always thought it WAS Jason.

The first time I saw any Friday the 13th film was on VHS. I remember I was at my uncle's house and for whatever reason I was in the garage looking around at things, probably exploring and I came across the box art for Friday the 13th Part 3. I was only 6 or so at the time but I recall the cover of an unknown killer piercing the shower curtain with his knife and turning it over to see a hockey masked man grabbing a woman by the throat in a van. Ever since then I wanted to watch this movie, and it would eventually happen because another uncle of mine was a huge horror buff, so thanks to him I am the horror fiend that I am today.

I saw the original on USA Up All Night before seeing JGTH in a theater as a wee lad and followed those up with a combination of VHS and USA marathon of pts. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. The remainder were seen via movie theater.

That's right Jet because we all know Gilbert didn't have the same effect on female fans of the show. How pathetic USA that on F13 January 2012 there was Law and Order, when fifteen years ago we had a plethora of reasons to stay UP!!!!!! ALL Night.

When the first Friday was released I was a manager/projectionist at a local theatre. I previewed it the night before it opened nation wide. I was still at that theatre for Fridays 2 & 3. I was lucky enough to see 'em all the first day they opened.
