This is good news.  Looking forward to seeing what Warner Bros. does with this.  I haven't bought any F13 movies since the From Crystal Lake to Manhattan set came out (with the exception of the remake of course).  Also hoping they put a nice price tag on this Blu-Ray set.

http://movies.broadwayworld.com/article (http://movies.broadwayworld.com/article) ... 3-20130611

The 10-disc collection ($129.95 SRP) includes the twelve films on nine Blu-ray discs, as well as a killer DVD bonus disc full of special features on the making of the famous franchise. The must-own set will be presented in a collectible tin case with 11 hours of previously released special features and a 40-page soft cover book. The book is excerpted from Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday The 13th, a fan-favorite volume that's viewed as the ultimate memoir of the series, and highlights some of the 200 interviews, 600 photos, storyboards, concept art and more. Also included is a brand new, official Camp Crystal Lake embroidered Counselor Patch.

*EDIT* Merging this, as I didn't realize there were two threads for the box set. ~Kat

So, they are offering 11 hours of previously released special features. I wonder if Warner is making any NEW extras for this set. This set, along with the upcoming double disc Blu-ray release of Crystal Lake Memories makes 2013 the greatest year in the history of Friday the 13th fandom.

I'm also hoping for some NOS footage . That's a music term i know , which stands for "New , old stock" . Deleted scenes that we haven't seen would be new to the fans , even though it's old footage from yesteryear ...

2013 seems like a great year to be a F13th fanatic !

Cool for those that care. I honestly have no hope for it. Its gonna be a rehash of everything else, and uncut or cut whatever the hell you want to call it, I've already seen them in HD on TV.

May sound harsh, but unless I get this for free, I will not be buying it till the price drops way the fuck down.

To see her in high definition would make my pants 3D!!  ;D

This set is going to be absolutely amazing! The entire franchise in HD in the same collection, with a booklet, and every single extra feature ever made for the series, inside of a tin case is the absolute most amazingly definitive Friday the 13th box set ever, and definitely a must have on day one!!!

Looks like a well packaged set , but i would've chosen a different picture for the cover art .

A poster on another site made a good comment ; too bad they didn't wait until after the next movie is made . This box set could have the cool factor/novelty of having all 13 films in one collection .

That's the million dollar question !

Title: Re: Friday the 13th box set coming!!!

I think the discs are probably going to have all the previously made extras from the two DVD box sets. I don't mind that because it isn't like they are going to tell us anything different anyway. How many times and in how many ways do you need Warrington Gillette to talk about the one scene he did in Friday the 13th Part 2 when snots were hanging out of his nose and he lost his depth perception?  ;D  :-X Plus, we have the 7 house Crystal Lake Memories Blu-ray coming out, so there are your new extras. This box set is all about  getting them all complete in one set and in HD.

When the new film comes out, don't worry, just switch discs. Put the new film in the set where the Killer Extras DVD (ported from the Crystal Lake to Manhattan set I am assuming) is and put that disc in the case to the new film, so keep the box set complete. No sweat! Done deal!

Pretty much this is just "From Crystal Lake to Manhattan" with the added feature of Blu Ray. The special "booklet" is just reprinted from Crystal Lake Memories and the 3D for Part III is just the same tired home-video 3D NOT the theatrical 3D release.

I think we have a loooooooong time to wait for the definitive Fthe13 box set...

I thought I was going to buy this until I heard some more details. Not worth the money since I already own all the DVDs. I'll save my money for Crystal Lake Memories.

Pretty much this is just "From Crystal Lake to Manhattan" with the added feature of Blu Ray.

It's actually all of the films, including the New Line era.  Unfortunately, there won't be a ny uncut stuff in the movies, except for the extended stuff in the remake.  The original and JGTH will be teatrical cuts ONLY. No unrated versions of either.  /2013/06/friday-13th-blu-ray-box-set-full-list.html (http:///2013/06/friday-13th-blu-ray-box-set-full-list.html)

This is a lot less exciting now.  I don't need the Friday the 13th movies to look pristine and wonderful on Blu-ray; I'd need extras, unrated editions, etc, to justify buying the films again.

They already have enough extras.

And admit it, Part 1 looked silly uncut. The R-Rated versions are fine.

I have mixed feelings about this thing now. I say if the uncut bersions are available then we shield have the option to watch them uncut or theatrical. I just can not justify Amazon's current pric tag when I already own the first three, Freddy vs. Jason, and the remake on Blu-ray, not to me tion that killer extras disc from the Crystal Lake to Manhattan box. The ONLY new things I would be getting out of this setis four discs. Four discs is not worth $114 to me. I took my preorder off of amazon when it was only $90, and now I'm sorry I did that. I do want this set but am not willing to pay over $100 for it. I don't mind them being theatrical versions, because that is what we lived with all the time anyway. The original is an equelly good film rated or unrated. Jason Goes to Hell isn't bad in its rated version either. I would love to own these films in high definition picture quality, which is the whole point of Blu-ray.

The original MSRP was announced at $129.95, but WBshop.com is selling the box set at $90.97, which is the cheapest price out there right now. Better yet, once you add the set to the cart on the WB website, you get an additional $10 off, making the cost $80.97! Even better than that, if you enter the coupon code WBAFSAVE10, you will get another additional $10 off, making the price $70.97.

Or buy it from Amazon through this link (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DEQQK8S/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00DEQQK8S&linkCode=as2&tag=amazingkatsha-20 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DEQQK8S/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00DEQQK8S&linkCode=as2&tag=amazingkatsha-20)) and help Camp Blood make a TINY %

But, I agree, I have all the releases on BluRay, so spending that amount for really nothing new isn't worth it unless you are a collector (which I am no longer, I cannot afford it), or you haven't purchased any in BluRay.

I've never seen the point in buying movies on blu ray that were never shot in HD. Most of them look grainy or like Jack's death in Friday 1, show the effects have dated quite badly.

Yes and no. The first movie looks amazing in BluRay, except yes, Jack's discolored neck, which you can see in the Deluxe transfers too. Maybe even the original boxset DVD - I cannot recall.

I personally LOVE these on BluRay, and would be excited for the box set if I were getting it free. But because I already have 1-3, the remake, and fvsj on BluRay, its a little silly for me to spend $90+ (that I 100% do not have, I just spent my last ounce of credit on the CLM Doc DVD) for only what 6 DVDs.

If the DVD isn't going to have something "extra" or special that you can only get with getting that specific box set. I'm skipping it, and when they release them 1 by 1 on BluRay, I'll buy those.

I have 1-9 on dvd and the original on blu ray which has brilliant extras. I'd only buy the Friday movies again if they came out in an unrated or unseen versions. Over the years I've replaced copies of movies with a newer release only to have the same copy as I did before

We are getting the entire franchise in one collection, and all in HD, with every single extra feature ever released. For me, that is enough to get the set.

This is the one franchise that I will ALWAYS be a sucker for and new new editions of.

For me, the appeal to THIS particular set is simply having the entire franchise; Paramount and New Line films together for the first time ever and all in HD quality.

For myself, all I feel like I really need to own is the first seven. To have any of them after that, I consider to be a bonus, but the first seven films are a must for me.

I see the whole Jason Goes to Hell controversy as a slap in the face to the fans. That film has been unrated on VHS, laser disc, and DVD. There is absolutely no excuse for it to not be unrated on Blu-ray.

Being that I own both Paramount DVD collections, all the New Line DVDs, and the five pre-existing Blu-rays, I will use my purchasing power to make a statement, and NOT purchase this set. I wrote a full review on Amazon as well explaining my position on this set.

That $69 deal sounds good. I'm hoping I can wait till it drops to maybe $50 and have the funds to buy it then. I already own all the releases on BluRay so I'd be doubling them. Granted I could sell the extras in the future. Or give them away, or something! But, right now I do not have the funds to buy this. Maybe if the price drops enough, I'll ask for it for xmas.

Wicked set dude.

It's weird after years of outcry for a blu-ray set, fans still complain about it when it does come.

That is because UV is not good enough. I want it ON THE DISC. Plus I do not like the Universal Monster style packaging, as people are experiencing the same old scratch and glue problems associated with this type of box set. I made up my mind to use my purchasing power to NOT support Jason Goes to Hell rated, this type of cardboard packaging box set, and to not be ripped off by Warner and pay that much money when I already own most of what is in the set anyway.

Solution. Buy the set for $74 thru WB Shop, sell the code + the blu's you already own and make $50, then you paid like $20-25 for the set, also not all of the sets are damaged, a lot of people have reported receiving mint sets.

How do you have them all on blu ray? 4-X just came out for the first time on blu.

I have 1-3, FvsJ, and the reboot all on Bluray, so I'd be doubling those ;)

Warner Bros have done a wonderful job on this set, however , the problem I have is that there's another Friday movie coming out or so we keep hearing, soon enough this boxset will be out of date :-/

That's why they should have waited . The set could have had all 13 movies in one collection , after the next installment gets released .

Plus , it would give the powers that be , more time to unearth and clean up all the "lost" footage we're craving ! LOL

There is no 'lost' footage.

That's a pretty bold statement . There's a whole thread about the uncut version of pt 2 (for example)  , as well as photo stills and a grainy YT video of the "decapitation" ending of pt 3 .

These items may still be out there ... somewhere .

I highly doubt it, and if they are they are so badly damaged they wouldn't  be able to put them together to even put it back in its original state. Just imagine if they could they would make tons of money, so that isn't a possibility seeing as they would have just done that.

Never say never !

I know it's a cliche but it's a good adage to live by . In this case , there are legit claims and pieces of seen evidence , to suggest that more bonus features could still be waiting to be discovered .
Remember I said that "they" might unearth some more footage ? There's no telling what some former insider might have stashed away , possibly without even realising it ...

Just sayin'  ;)

When they put Jaws on blu ray they used the original film. Even though it was damaged they were able to repair it, according to a video on youtube (I think it was called Jaws Blu Ray Restoration).

Now for the other matter. They probably don't think they'd make a whole lot of money because there's no guarantee a lot of fans would buy them after all this time. To them the Friday films are a has-been cash cow. Of course the films are being put on blu ray, but that's by Warner Bros, and it would be more work. Evidence to support this is the uncut scenes for The Final Chapter. They're on youtube in good quality I believe, but there's no uncut version in circulation out there as far as we know, except for a few claims.

You're right, they don't want to put the work into it, that's why Paramount let WB buy the rights, they had all the movies ready to go but didn't want to spend the money releasing them, now look, we have a set that's on backorder lol, or was anyway.

Long time away ....

I'm glad to see these films finally released (as an entire set) in blu ray.  Unfortunately we will never totally get what we want out of this series but for a blu ray set listed for under $100 at Amazon it's not too bad.

That said I agree with the above poster that we will very well likely see yet another blu ray complete set once the new film is released.

Highly unlikely, although if there is a new set if will just be the exact same transfers and features, nothing new.

That's what I mean ... same films, just new boxes, cover art, etc.  That's why I do not believe we will all get what we want out of these or future box sets.  I've given up on uncut films, we will never see whatever little footage remains.  Much less version that incorporate the lost/missing scenes.

Still, for under $100 you can have all of the F-13 films in a nice tidy box set.  So for new fans that have not bought the earlier releases this is a very nice set.

Or for fans that don't own them in HD, and in this case 4-X are making their blu ray debut.

Also my order shipped today, says it won't be here till Tuesday, but I am still pumped!

I'm torn.  I have all the films on VHS and DVD (I also have the first 3 on Blu Ray) so while I really want the set to have 4 + on blu ray I think I can wait until around Christmas when the price will more than likely drop a little.  I did recently buy the Crystal Lake Memories blu ray which I should get in the mail on Friday (very excited about that).

Honestly I don't see it dropping lower than what it is at ($70), at least not with the tin set, patch, band, and booklet, we might see a bare bones release sometime.

I don't know, I lucked out with the Star Trek original series disks ... it might end up as a gold box deal.  I figure they will have copies left over at some point.  Either way I won't miss out, eventually I will get them.  LOL

Still, I'm excited ... I'm getting Crystal Lake Memories in the mail tonight!

I see the whole Jason Goes to Hell controversy as a slap in the face to the fans. That film has been unrated on VHS, laser disc, and DVD. There is absolutely no excuse for it to not be unrated on Blu-ray.
It's too bad. JGTH is a fun movie and I'd like to see the extended version as well as the other deleted scenes and stuff.

I do not know the answer to that question. I do know that it is the exact same disc as the previously released Uncut Blu-ray.

What blows my mind about the Friday the 13th box set is that Warner made a Friday the 13th box set on Blu-ray that blew their Nightmare on Elm Street Blu-ray box set completely out of the water.

The movies definitely look and sound better then they ever have. The Elm Street set had some poor quality transfers if you ask me. The Elm Street 4 transfer was comparable to Echo Bridge's Halloween H20 transfer.

I was pretty butthurt about that. JGTH is my second favorite in the series, and i buy the boxset, and i get rated r. Fuck. That movie can only be viewed unrated, thats why  i like it, the carnage.

I remember the discussion in chat where someone said the reason why it wasn't released unrated on blu ray was because Warner Bros supports censorship. I don't hate them for that, but they need to realize that some movies, especially old ones, have been UNFAIRLY censored. >:(

I did a little searching online. According to IMDB:
"To obtain an R-Rating from the MPAA the original theatrical version had to be cut slightly. Until 2009, this was the only version available in the USA. It was released on Laserdisc, VHS and DVD. Because of the fact that "Friday the 13th" was released by another publisher in Europe (Warner instead of Paramount) the European version was uncut. In 2009, with the remake hitting the cinemas, a new DVD was released in the USA which for the first time in the US territory includes the unrated version."

Don't know if that's been confirmed to be true or not, but if it is it shows just how much Paramount cared. Wait till a remake to release the first uncut. ::)
