Camp Blood: The Home of Jason Voorhees

Friday The 13th Part 4

The campgrounds used during filming are those at Hard Labor Creek State Park in Rutledge, GA. There are actually two campgrounds here - Camp Daniel Morgan & Camp Rutledge. According to a Camp Blood visitor Chad, (the person who submitted our Location photos) Camp Daniel Morgan is indeed the shooting location for this film.

According to Wikipedia (as of summer 2011) Camp Rutledge is the one it was filmed at. However, the photos on their website for Camp Rutledge don't look like those from the movie.

So its safe to say that Camp Daniel Morgan IS the filming location used for this movie NOT Camp Rutledge.

Either way, both campgrounds are group campsites that may be reserved for different functions. The 1980 film "Little Darlings" was also filmed at Hard Labor Creek State Park, using the same cabins as Jason Lives did. The "Counselor's" cabin is clearly visible during some scenes of Little Darlings. The 1985 film "Poison Ivy" was also shot in the same area.

Other locations, such as the cemetery, and police station, were shot in Covington, GA and Madison, GA. The cemetery is located off West Central Ave Madison, GA 30650 (click link to explore street views via Google Maps), The Sheriff's office is on the corner of Monticello St SW & Conyers St SW, Covington, GA 30014, and Karloff's Store is said to be on Old Starrsville Rd, right off of County Rd. 213 in Covington, GA.
